On January 12, 2025, a unique initiative, “Mayechi Sadi” (A Saree of Love), was organized in Bhatukdi Pada, Malad East, to support underprivileged and tribal women. Every year, this initiative is conducted through the Ashtavinayak Mahila Bachat Gat, Sham Nagar, with tremendous community support.

During Navratri, sarees offered to the goddess are collected and distributed to needy women. Last year, 60 sarees were distributed, and this year, the overwhelming response allowed even more women to benefit from this heartwarming effort.

Key contributors to the event included Rupali Khairnar, Smita Sawant, Datta Sawant, Bhakti Salunkar, Pooja Dalvi, Vinaya Kanade, Sureshna Dhuri, Prajakta Mahajan, Santosh Sawant, Praveen Sawant, and Atul Jain, who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.

Organizer Shivaji Khairnar expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the local organizations and individuals who made this initiative possible. This unique gesture has brought smiles and a sense of dignity to countless women.
