Delhi, New Delhi Judge Sanjiv Khanna of the Supreme Court stated on Saturday that the issue of pendency and backlog of cases affects the entire judiciary and that the district judiciary’s effective operation is essential to reducing these difficulties.
Speaking at the ‘National Conference of the District Judiciary,’ which was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Justice Khanna stated that district court judges project the judiciary’s image to the general public because most citizens interact with these judges as witnesses or parties.
According to data, district court disposal rates have increased significantly since 2018, according to Justice Khanna.
“The backlog of cases and pendency issues currently affect the judiciary as a whole. Therefore, he stated, “the district judiciary’s effective operation is essential to reducing these difficulties.”
In his message of welcome, he stated, “To look at the brighter side, the data reveals that the disposal rates in the district courts have gone up considerably since 2018.”
