PM Modi Addresses Women’s Safety Amid Outrage Over Kolkata Rape-Murder: ‘Grave Concerns…’

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, incidences of atrocities against women will result in justice being served more quickly, giving the public greater confidence over their protection.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of prompt justice in cases involving crimes against women, stating that this will increase their sense of security. His words were made at a time when anger in India was being felt over the reported rape and murder of a 31-year-old woman trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, as well as the sexual assault of two kindergarten girls in Thane.

Atrocities against women and children’s safety are major problems for society today. In front of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Modi addressed the opening session of a national conference of district judges, saying that the sooner justice is served in cases of atrocities against women, the more confidence half of the population will have in their safety.
