Samantha Calls on TS Government to Release Report on Sexual Harassment in Tollywood

The WCC of Kerala was also commended by Samantha Ruth Prabhu for submitting the results in the newly published Hema Committee report.
Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who represents the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), sent a message on her Instagram stories. She praised the “persistent efforts” of the Kerala women’s collective, which produced the conclusions reported by the Hema Committee. She also asked for the report on sexual harassment in the Telugu film industry to be made public by the Telangana government.

“We, the women of the Telugu film industry, welcome the Hema Committee report and applaud the persistent efforts of the WCC in Kerala, which has laid the path to this moment,” Samantha wrote on Instagram Stories in reference to the people in Kerala who persisted in having the report issued. The Voice of Women, a support group for women in the TFI, was established in 2019 after taking its cue from the WCC.
“We hereby urge the Telangana government to publish the submitted sub committee report on sexual harassment, which can help frame government and industry policies, to establish a safe working environment for women in the TFI. @wcc_cinema,” she continued, pleading for similar measures to be taken in Telangana so that women’s safety can be given top priority in Tollywood.
