Former Jharkhand chief Minister Champai Soren will attend a BJP function at Dhurva Maidan in Ranchi this afternoon. Several dignitaries, including Jharkhand BJP assembly election chief and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, will be present on the occasion.
Earlier, Champai Soren had said that he was joining the BJP to save the identity and existence of the tribals at stake in the Santhal Pargana region in the state of Jharkhand due to “rampant” infiltration from Bangladesh.
